In an effort to realize the vision, mission and goals, PSTK implements the main values of BINTANG which have been formulated in the USU RENSTRA as a guide for all academicians. The main values of BINTANG have the following explanations and meanings as follows:

• Pious to God Almighty  in the frame of diversity.
  PSTK USU personnel obey God Almighty, always asking Him for all efforts to achieve success, accompanied by a spirit of togetherness and tolerance between followers of different religions.
• Innovative with integrity.
  PSTK personnel as part of USU realize that to become a well-known, reputable university, and gain international recognition requires innovation in the scientific field of Chemical Engineering while still being guided by the rules of scientific ethics and professionalism.
• Resilient and wise.
  PSTK personnel as part of USU never give up and do not give up to despair easily in fighting for their dreams while remaining wise.
