Founder of the Research Center

  Sustainable Energy Research Center (SERC) / The Center for Sustainable Energy Research has been established since June 10, 2012 and was founded by Prof. Dr. Eng. Himsar Ambarita ST. Mt.. This Research Center is located in the Master of Mechanical Engineering Building, University of North Sumatra. This research center involves lecturers and students of Mechanical Engineering starting from S1, S2, to S3 studies. The focus of research carried out at this research center is Solar Energy, Heat Pumps, Water Energy, Coolants, Heat Exchangers, Geothermal, Simulation, and Bio Diesel. The tools used in this research center are computers, Hobo Weather Data Logger, Agilent Data Logger, License Software Ansys, Aspen. This research center has conducted a lot of research, namely Solar Dryers, Heat Pump Dryers, Solar Water Heaters, Solar Cookers, Flat Plate Collectors, Vacuum Desalination, Phase Change Materials, Refrigeration Engines, Heat Exchangers, Geothermal, Diesel Engines, Wind Turbines, Aircraft Wings, and Biodiesel. The last research or research that is currently running at this research center is Seawater Desalination, Cold Energy Storage, Vortex Water Turbines, Solar Dryers using PCM, Evaporation, and Pumps as Turbines.
