Team Horas USU car competed in SEM Asia 2016

Prototype car by Tim Horas Faculty of Engineering University of North Sumatra (USU) is ready to compete in the event Shell Eco Marathon (SEM) Asia 2016. Ahead of the competition, the work is named Prototype G7 and USU G8 has been exhibited in the event “Grand launching Of Energy Efficient Vehicle “at Pendopo USU.

“The plan of this seventh and eighth car will be taken to participate in the Shell Eco Marathon (SEM) Asia competition on March 3-6, 2016 in Manila, Philippines,” said Tim Horas Lecturer, Himsar Ambarita, as quoted from the USU website, Wednesday ( 9/12/2015).

The fourth-generation manager of Team Horas fourth generation, Teguh Imam Widodo said, wants to make innovations rarely won by Indonesia. Based on the specifications, the Prototype G7 car is made with a new ignition system. While the advantages, namely saving and perfect combustion.

As for the USU G8 engine, said Teguh, is an urban concept car such as city car that is widely used in the present. In addition, the transmission system has also been developed to be lighter and more efficient.

“This car is targeted to travel a distance of 2,000 kilometers using a single fuel Ethanol fuel,” he said.

On the occasion of the launch was also present Pj USU Rector Profh Subhilhar, PhD who support Team Horas competed in SEM Asia 2016.

Previously, Team Horas USU ever won the first and second champion in the event SEM Asia 2014. While this year, in the same event Team Horas won second place in the class of Ethanol.
