World Class Guest Lecturer (Theory of Inventive Problem Solving)
On Monday, 1st of November 2021, a World Class Guest Lecturer with the topic “Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ)” was presented by Ts. Dr. Muhd Ridzuan bin Mansor from Fakulti Kejuruteraan Mekanikal Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka. In this activity, Ts. Dr. Muhd Ridzuan bin Mansor conveyed how important TRIZ is in engineering life.

This activity was attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Bustami Syam, MSME, Ir. Syahrul Abda, MSc, Dr.-Ing Ikhwansyah Isranuri, Dr. Ir. M. Sabri, MT. IPM Asean Eng, A. Yunus Nasution, ST. MT. which are the lecturers in the Maintenance sub-field in Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Sumatera Utara. In a literal way, TRIZ “inventive problem-solving theory” is the next evolutionary step in creating an organized and systematic approach to problem-solving. Today, TRIZ innovation technology is considered the most comprehensive, systematically organized invention science and creative thinking methodology known to man. TRIZ has several advantages when compared to traditional innovation methods, including:
  • Increase the market through creative productivity.
  • Research to produce invention and innovation solutions quickly.
  • The scientific approach that predicts the evolution of technology systems, products, and processes.
